Arthur Gilmour joined NSW Agriculture as a trainee in 1967, becoming a biometrician in 1970.  He undertook PhD studies in Animal Breeding at Massey University and graduated in 1983.

Research interests

His research has focussed on statistical computing leading to the development of ASReml (http://asreml.com) in close collaboration with Professor Robin Thompson and Dr Brian Cullis. He is generally interested in all areas of application of linear mixed models.

Other interests

Arthur is married to Ellen and they have four children. They are active Christians and are establishing a small Chestnut and Olive enterprise.
