Family CHARIPIDAE
Hypodiranchis aphidae Froggatt 1904: 612
Lectotype:
Kenthurst, NSW, 10.v.1904, Gallard, bred from Aphis on cabbage
Paralectotype:
same data as lectotype.
Notes: These two specimen were recognised as holotype and paratype by Carver (1992: 772). This was based on an interpretation of "type" and "co-type" labels attached to the specimens, presumably by Froggatt, as being holotype and paratype. However Froggatt (1904: 612) did not designate holotype and paratype and the two specimens must therefore be regarded as being established as syntypes by Froggatt. Carver's (1992) recognition of a holotype and paratype is here taken to constitute a lectotype designation (ICZN 1999: Art.74.5). The original description of this species is on page 612, not page 603 as given by Carver (1992).
Synonymised with: Alloxysta fuscicornis (Hartig) by Carver (1992: 772)

Family EUCHARITIDAE
Propsilogaster alcicornis Boucek 1988: 524
Holotype:
male, Jerilderie, NSW, 26.i.1979, J.K. McGechan, rotating trap.
Notes: The locality was mispelled as Jerlderie in the original publication. The rotating trap consisted of two conical nets (ca 20cm diameter) attached facing opposite directions on a long pole which was attached to a vertical spindle. The spindle was rotated, using an electrical motor, so that the nets circulated at a constant speed day and night in the horizontal plane at a height of about 1.5m above ground level. The nets were emptied once a day and the collected material sorted. The sampling program run by John McGechan at Jerilderie (at the McCaughey Memorial Institute) was designed to monitor aphid flight activity associated with lettuce necrotic yellows phytoplasma but a range of other interesting material, including this specimen, was also caught by the trap.

1 male, Prison Farm, Glen Innes, vii.1969-xii.1970, Col.? Donated.
Note: This last specimen does not match the published dates of collection, despite bearing a paratype label matching those on the other paratypes. The label says "July, 1969 - Dec, 1970" but the original publications says "viii.1969-xii.1970". It is probable that this is a transcription error. Two paratypes were designated from this locality and neither was deposited in ASCU. One is supposedly in BMNH and the other in ANIC.
