Matt joined the Unit in 1997 as part of the papaya fruit fly monitoring team. In mid 1997 he took over the examination of sticky traps for Western Flower Thrips monitoring in cut flower nurseries. He is also involved in the exotic fruit fly monitoring program and examination of export bees to ensure freedom from parasitic mite diseases.

Michelle joined the ASCU pest monitoring team in 2002, working three days per week during the summer months. Her focus is exotic fruit fly monitoring and she also sorts monitoring samples trapped following mass release of sterile fruit flies. Michelle is a local grower, the Rossetto family producing cherries of outstanding quality.

Rosy joined the unit in 2002 as part of the fruit fly monitoring team and now identifies fruit flies, ants and western flower thrips. Rosy is a trained high school mathematics teacher and has taught in schools all over NSW. She has also worked as a Bank Customer Service Officer. She enjoys the monitoring work because flies don't answer back like school students and bank customers.
Carmen King

Carmen joined ASCU in 2002 as part of the databasing team funded by the APPD data capture program. When her contract time was completed, Carmen transferred to the monitoring group working within ASCU and Head Office managing red imported fire ant data and identifying samples extracted from beehives as suspected small hive beetles.
