Merydyn Davison is the Entomology Enquiry Officer handling calls from agricultural producers, departmental officers and members of the public. Merydyn graduated from Sydney Technical College in 1971 and joined the Department in 1977 to manage the plague locust colony maintained by the department at BCRI, Rydalmere. In addition to this role, she provided technical support for research into biological control of pest grasshoppers until 1990 when, following three years in Stored Product Entomology and a short stint in the Sheep Blowfly Unit, she took over the responsibilities of the Enquiry Officer. Merydyn provides a State-wide entomological enquiry service from the Orange Agricultural Institute. Merydyn is also involved in revising departmental extension publications on insect topics in readiness for electronic publication of this information through the Department's Website.
