The Society's 36th Annual General Meeting will be held in Canberra on 6th December 2005. A draft Agenda appears below. Members who wish to have additional items included in the Agenda for discussion at the 36th AGM need to provide the Secretary with details by 18th November 2005.

CALL FOR NOMINATION/ RENOMINATION OF OFFICERS & COUNCILLORS

    The Offices listed below will fall vacant at the Society's 36th AGM in December 2005. Nominations for election should be made on the form provided below and should reach the Secretary no later than 31st October 2005.
    The information below has been checked with the provisions and requirements of the Society’s Constitution.
    The President is elected for one year and is eligible for re-election for only one further year. Dr Naumann is therefore eligible for re-election for a further year.
    Other Executive positions (Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer), termed the Officers of the Society, are appointed for two years and are eligible for re-election for subsequent terms. The incumbents will therefore continue in these positions to 2006 and will be eligible for re-election then.
    The Council consists of the Officers, the Immediate Past President, Regional and Representative Councillors, Chief Editor, News Bulletin Editor and Public Officer. Chief Editor, News Bulletin Editor and Public Officer are all eligible for re-election. The current News Bulletin Editor has indicated that she will not be available for re-election.
    Regional Councillors are appointed annually and can serve for up to a maximum of three consecutive terms. Those not eligible for re-election are indicated with an asterisk in the list below. Representative Councillors are appointed by the Affiliated Societies which they represent and have no restrictions on terms of office.
 We also have Executive appointments, which currently comprise the Promotions Officer, Minutes Secretary, Membership Secretary, Technical Editors and members of the Conservation and Education Committees
