Genus Alosextius Evans Type species: Acanthuchus carinatus Funkhouser 1927, by original designation Known species: Only the type species is described but Day (1999) lists three undescribed species from N. Qld. Distribution: Qld, SA? Comments: Funkhouser (1927b: 311) gives the type locality for the male holotype and female paratype of A. carinatus as "South Australia" but Day (1999) casts doubt on this because the genus is otherwise distributed in NE Qld. Because of its pale greenish (pale yellow brown in dry specimens) coloration, the species has the appearance of species of Sextius but it lacks the reticulate venation typical of Sextius. The pronotal notch is also much more obvious in Alosextius than in Sextius and crossvein m-cu1 is absent in Alosextius.
