Genus Putoniessa Kirkaldy 1907: 50
Type species: Putoniessa dignissima Kirkaldy, by monotypy.

Known species: 31 species are known distributed variously in all States of Australia

Comments: By far the largest genus of the Tribe, Putoniessa was revised by Stevens (1994) who added 18 of the known species. Many species are reasonably common and well represented in collections. The genus is characterised by a flat or very slightly convex pronotum and a narrow flat horizontal crown.
