Genus Mitelloides Evans 1939: 46
Type species: Mitelloides moaensis Evans, by original designation

Known species: Three species are known from Queensland.

Comments: The genus was revised by Stevens (1990) who recognised three species, two of which were described in that paper. A specimen in the Evans collection (in AM) identified as M. moaensis is from PNG so it seems probable that the genus extends into New Guinea.

The genus is identifiable by the strongly convex pronotum which is continuous with the vertical crown but, unlike in Macroceps, the face is flat and set at an angle to the crown.
