Genus Ledropsis White 1844: 425
Type species: Ledropsis cancroma White, by original designation

Known species: Ledropsis contains about 20 species ranging from India to Indonesia and Japan.

Australian species: The only Australian species is L. froggatti Distant 1907: 192 found in eastern Australia.

Known hosts: NSW Christmas Bush (Ceratopetalum gummiferum, family Cunoniaceae) and Leptospermum (Myrtaceae).

Comments: Ledropsis froggatti, which has also been known as Ledropsis crocina, is one of the most common Australian Ledrini but is difficult to find on its host bush. This is because it aligns itself closely against the stem during the day so it looks like a slight swelling on the plant. It is easily identified from other Australian ledrines by the narrow tapering crown.
