Kyphoctella
Evans 1966: 111
Type species: Kyphoctella distorta Evans, by original designation Known species: Only the type species, from the Northern Territory, is known Comments: This unusual little (~10mm) stenocotine represents another monotypic Australian genus. It differs in the head structure from other stenocotines, the vertex continuing the declivous curve of the pronotum and broadly rounded to the face. The elevation of the scutellum is also more pronounced than in most specimens of Kyphocotis and the labium is considerably shorter in K. distorta. than in Kyphocotis species in which it reaches the apices of the hind coxae.
