Genus Epipsychidion Kirkaldy 1906: 345
Type species: Epipsychidion epipyropis Kirkaldy, by monotypy

Known species: The type species from eastern Australia and E. whitteni from Tas.

Comments: The species of this genus are small thymbrines (female up to 6mm) with a distinctive striped pattern on the pronotum, more striking in E. epipyropis than in E. whitteni. The genus was reviewed by Stevens (1990a). Evans (1966) spelled the species as epipryopis and credited Kirkaldy (1906) with this spelling but Kirkaldy's original spelling is as above.
