Known species: Four species are known, B. procurrens in WA, B. rubra in Qld, B. obscura in NT and B. nigra in Vic, NSW, Qld and PNG.

Comments: Evans (1966) distinguished species of this genus from other Ipoini using the fact that the tegmina overlap apically rather than being held with the apices adpressed together. While this is correct, this can be a difficult feature to define because the appendices of the two tegmina overlap in all species and the tegmina may not necessary be held in their normal resting position in pinned specimens. The generally flattened form of the species, which in itself is the reason the tegmina are held in this fashion, can also be seen in the lateral view of the head. In most eurymelids, the face is almost at right angles to the dorsal surface of the thorax while, in Bakeriana species, it runs almost parallel over its lower portion. Confirmation of identifications of this genus need reference to the male genitalia.
