The only Australian species of Macroceratogoniini is the unusual Macroceratogonia aurea. This species has a broad round head with the front margin extended forward from the level of the eyes and a distinct marginal ridge on the ventral surface. The ocelli are on the crown and the antennae are extremely long, normally reaching beyond the apices of the folded tegmina. M. aurea is bright golden yellow in life.
