Genus Gaetulia Stål 1864: 54

Type species: Gaetulia pudibunda Stål 1864, by monotypy

Known species: This genus is essentially a Central American one with three species in Australia: G. chrysopoides (Walker) fairly common in NSW and Qld, G. hackeri Muir in Qld and G. koebelei Muir from NSW.

Comments: The placement of three Australian species in an otherwise Neotropical genus is questionable since there is very little connection between these two regions in other fulgoroid families. Gaetulia koebelei may be a junior synonym of Salona panorpaepennis (Guérin-Méneville) and it is possible that all three Australian species may be better placed in Salona Stål.
