1906: 447; Constant 2005: 58 Synonyms: Elthenus Jacobi 1928: 3, synonymised by Fennah 1964: 160 Type species: Gelastopsis insignis Kirkaldy 1906, (by original designation) Known species: Three species are known in this genus, all restricted to Australia. Comments: The species of Gelastopsis are easily recognised by the shape of the frons with the elevated carinae marking off two depressions on the apical half of the frons. Nothing is known of their biology.
