The Family Flatidae is one of the larger families of Fulgoromorpha. The Australian fauna is distinctive and includes 22 genera, many endemic to the continent. The dominant genus Siphanta has 41 species which were treated by Fletcher (1985, 2002). New Zealand has three species, all introductions from Australia. Anzora unicolor (previously known as Sephena cinerea) is reported as a vector of fireblight in New Zealand [update: 12.ii.2001].
