Genus Geraldtonia Distant 1910a: 311

Type species: Geraldtonia protea Distant 1910a

Distribution: Australia (N. Qld)

Species: Only the type species is known.

Note: Fletcher (1982) reviewed the genus and synonymised the two species names erected by Distant (1910a). The generic name is based on the locality Geraldton, near Cairns. As noted by Fletcher (1982), the male bears a spot on the tegmen which can vary between a small brown spot, a broad brown patch extending from the centre of the tegmen to the apex of the clavus or a series of brown and white spots. The female lacks a spot altogether.
