Genus Dardus Stål 1859 : 279

Type species: Dardus rufiventris Stål 1859 (by original designation), synonymised with Dardus abbreviatus Guérin-Méneville by Stål (1862a )

Known species: Six species are known in this genus, all restricted to Australia

Comments: These species are all short squat insects with dark coloured tegmina. The most common and widespread is D. abbreviatus which is found on wattles.
