Tribe Tropiphlepsiini Emeljanov 1991: 61

This tribe, known only from Australia, is represented by the single genus Tropiphlepsia Muir (1924: 32) with the single described species T. badia Muir. However, there are undescribed species present in collections. The vertical tegmina with apices apposed immediately distinguishes these species from other Australian achilids. Other features of this group include the longitudinal veins being outwardly prominent for short distances near the base (the outwardly prominent claval veins are visible on the dorsal edge of the image here) and the head being very short, the vertex much wider than long with the anterior margin excavate or concave and the face flat to concave.
