Distribution: NT, Philippines, Polynesia, Melanesia

Economic Status: As listed in Day and Fletcher (1994) it has a wide host range, although not recorded as a vector of any plant diseases. 

Notes: The dark coloration distinguishes it from both O. argentatus and O. canberrensis, although dark specimens of  O. argentatus might be confused with it. Reliable determinations require examination of the male genitalia.
