Genus Liorhina Stål 1870: 722, Type species, Liorhina reflexa Stål, by monotypy

Generic distribution: Philippines, Solomon Islands, New Guinea (Bougaineville), Australia

Australian species: Only one species of this genus is known from Australia. L. loxosema (Hacker) was described, as Clovia loxosema Hacker, from SE Queensland and NE New South Wales. It was transferred to Liorhina by Liang and Fletcher (2003)

Comments: This is the most brightly coloured Australian spittlebug.
