Genus Interocrea Walker 1870: 328, Type species: Interocrea nigripes Walker, by monotypy.

Generic distribution: New Guinea, Solomon Islands, New Caledonia, Australia

Australian species: Two species are found in Australia, I. nigrofasciata (Kirkaldy) and I. regalis (Lallemand), both from North Queensland.

Comments: The shape of the head with the vertex as long as the pronotum and separated from the face by a carinate margin, distinguishes species of this genus from other Australian spittlebugs.
