HAIRY MELON

Benincasa hispida var. chien-gua

Chinese: Moa Gua

A long light green gourd with a downy, hairy skin. Often narrowing in the centre and fattening at the end.

Growing conditions: Temperate to sub-tropical.

Marketing: Hairy Melon is consigned to the markets in 10kg cartons.
