CHOY SUM

Brassica parachinensis

Chinese: Choy Sum | Japanese: Saishin | Malay: Sawi Manis

Choy Sum are perhaps the commonest form of Chinese greens sold in greengrocery, and are distinguished by the small yellow flowering heads that protrude from the bunch of leaves. the leaves are yellowy-green: distinguishable from Chinese Broccoli which has white flowers and bluey-green leaves.

Growing conditions: Temperate—Sydney basin.
