CHINESE BROCCOLI -

GAI LUM

Brassica oleracea var. albogabra

Chinese: Gai Lum
Japanese: Kairan
Malay: Kai Lan

Chinese Broccoli has a similar form to Choy Sum, but the leaves are slightly thicker, more ragged round the edge and bluey green in colour. The flower is white; distinguishing it thoroughly from the yellow flowered Choy Sum.

Growing conditions: Temperate—Sydney basin.
