Vegetables BANANA LEAVES Musa spp. Young leaves of the Cavendish banana and sold in rolled bundles. Used in Chinese cooking as wrapping for yum cha etc, in small sections torn from the large banana leaf. Pacific Island usage is preferred from the leaf of the plantain. Growing conditions: Warm temperateQueensland and northern New South Wales. There are quarantine restrictions on the movement of banana plant material including leaves, into, within and out of the NSW banana quarantine area. Permits are required. |
